Before Pearl Jam, there was Mother Love Bone.

Future Pearl Jam members Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament formed Mother Love Bone in 1988. Flamboyant frontman Andrew Wood helped create a stir in the burgeoning Seattle music scene, but the group’s career was cut short when Wood died only days before the scheduled release of their debut album Apple. The album was eventually released a few months later.

Now the complete works of Mother Love Bone – comprised of Apple and debut EP Shine – will be released as a vinyl box set titled On Earth As It Is. Included is a 24 page booklet featuring lyrics, credits, a 12″ x 12″ envelope with photo prints, a fold out poster and a stencil. The set is packaged as a slipcase replicating a Mother Love Bone wall mural painted by Jeff Ament.

A “very limited number” of packages will also receive a rare Happy Holidays greeting card signed by each member of Mother Love Bone. Apparently these cards were dug out from the deep within the Mother Love Bone / Love Co. archives. Due in Fall, pre-order your copy here.
