Working in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, The Moving Museum has been in London expounding the best of the city’s young artistic talent.

Hosted in The Vinyl Factory’s brutalist new exhbition space and creative hub at 180 The Strand, The Moving Museum has spent the Autumn showcasing 31 of London’s most urgent creative voices through 200 multi-media works with an exhibition entitled “Open Heart Surgery”.

Peeling back the layers to dissect the capital’s emerging and established art scenes in this unique cross-section of a city in flux, The Vinyl Factory film team spent time getting to know some of the artists involved and meet with organisers Simon Sakhai and Aya Mousawi to find out a little bit more about their motivations for bringing the moveable feast to London.

Running until 15th December, the legacy of the exhibition will be secured in wax with the release of a deluxe 9-piece vinyl box set produced by The Vinyl Factory to showcase the audio and musical elements of the works on show and tap into the spirit of multi-platform dialogue so central to the contemporary ethos of The Moving Museum.

Limited to just 100 copies, the nine 12″ records will feature young British artists showcased in the exhibition in hand-created sleeves and housed in a bespoke frosted perspex box. For more info about the release and to pre-order a copy ahead of its January release, visit our shop.

The Moving Museum’s “Open Heart Surgery” will run until 15th December at The Vinyl Factory @ 180 The Strand, London WC2R 1EA.
