A wizard of heavy, futuristic sample-house magic formulated with hip hop, jazz, soul and broken beat in mind, Glenn Astro has been on our hit list for a while. A debut LP on Tartelet and a newly formed record label with Max Graef will keep the young German busy in 2015, but we’re sold on this forthcoming WotNot release. Gritty as much as it is soulful, Hologram is a bumping foray into 120 bpm dance music. Helped along with a delightful, jazzy synth-funk remix courtesy of 22a’s Henry Wu, this might just be Astro’s best release to date.
